VFSAC purchases a home for a vet!
VFSAC is proud to announce the purchase of a home through Operation Homefront Permanent Homes for Veterans Program. On June 28th, the Ehi family was welcomed to their forever home in Crowley, TX. The generous donations and support the VFSAC received at our 2022 VFSAC Golf Classic, made the purchase of this home possible.
Thank you, Mr. Ehi, for your service to our country. Our veterans give everything for our collective freedom, and we cannot thank you enough for your sacrifice, said Doug Whittemore, U.S. Bank, Head of Mortgage Consumer Default Servicing, and a member of the VFSAC Executive Council during the presentation ceremony. In the past, the funds raised by VFSAC have gone toward multiple assistance programs, and today we are happy to announce this is our first home donation in partnership with Operation Homefront. The VFSAC is committed to continuing its mission to impact the lives of our veterans and their families. On behalf of the VFSAC executive and advisory council, I am proud to welcome the Ehi family to their new home.

The VFSAC is proud to announce that funds raised from our 2023 VFSAC Annual Golf Classic were used to purchase a home for the Operation Homefront Transitional Homes for Veterans program! On Tuesday, October 22nd, VFSAC and Operation Homefront team members welcomed Navy veteran Bernell Browley, his wife Christina, and their son into their new home!
The Transitional Homes for Veterans program is designed as a gateway for stability and support for families working toward self-sufficiency. Veteran transitional housing is offered by the Transitional Homes for Veterans program to help veteran families who are within 3 years of discharge and have served honorably. The program offers temporary, rent-free housing as well as financial education and support services to help families work toward self-sufficiency.
After 20 years of service and five deployments, Bernell and his family are ready to start their journey toward homeownership. For the next 2-3 years, the Browleys will live rent-free while working with financial counselors to prepare for the future. With help from this fantastic program, the family will build savings, improve their credit, and work toward purchasing their own home!
Your generous support of the VFSAC and your makes stories like this possible. Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, golfers, supporters, and donors, we can give back to the veterans and their families who sacrifice so much for our country. Thank you to all of you who support our mission to positively impact the lives of our veterans and their families. Click here to see pictures from the home donation event.
